Catch Up, Part Two - Cake

We weren't home to officially announce it, but this past Tuesday, July 1st Ana turned one! We had originally planned on celebrating her birthday on Tuesday while we were camping down at the beach but the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate so we decided to move it to Saturday. It was a nice, quiet, but fun day! I made a few girly decorations, some pink and green cupcakes and a large cupcake in the center for Ana. She didn't quite get the present opening, but she certainly enjoyed the cake! Ian helped her open her presents, and was so good about it I was so proud of him. He really tried to teach her how to open and tried to get her excited about her gifts but naturally she was more excited by the paper than the presents anyways! Thanks to everyone for coming and for all the wonderful gifts!

Lovin' that I get to do the girly stuff now!

Fresh up from her nap, the princesa is looking a little rough!

But voila, doesn't she clean up nice?!

Always a lady...this is how she crawls 99% of the time now, on hands and feet

Getting a kick out of the bear that sings "Happy Birthday" from Nannie and Papa

Yeah, I changed her before her cake, and she kept that crown on for a full 45 seconds

What? I can eat this all?

It started with a little taste of the frosting:

And went downhill from there!

The final product

just before being dropped into a nice bath!

What a great first birthday!!!! However, I think Lili can give Ana some lessons on how to be a bit more messy when eating birthday cake. She was covered from head to toe, their was cake on the door, cupboards, floors and dogs.
